HI. I’M SAM.
I’m a lifestyle and interiors photographer based in the Dandenong Ranges, an hour outside of Melbourne, and originally from the South-East of England. The area we live in is affectionately known as the Hills and we’re surrounded by forest and, you guessed it, hills, and it constantly inspires me.
I adore houses of all types and love to see how others make their house their home. I have a soft spot for Australian weatherboards and feel very fortunate to live in a 1950s weatherboard cottage alongside my husband of the same name and our dog, Buster, who we adore and who in turn, adores us and for whom obedience is not a strong point. Who knew that a king bed could seem so small?
I inherited a love of photography from my much-loved Gramps, a passion for home and gardening from my beautiful Mum and Nan, and an eye for detail from my wonderful Dad.
I have always loved images, whether they be digital, printed, painted, drawn, or simply what is right in front of me at that moment. I am always seeing possible photographs as I pass by a scene, whatever it might be. A captured picture is full of potential – it draws you in and allows you to imagine what might lie beyond it, it provides an opportunity to escape, inspire, learn, and more. Getting out and about to visit spaces, places, and the people that inhabit them is always a good day. I love to capture the detail and beauty in and around us and to create images that are natural, bright, and full of colour and light.
Please drop me a line if you think I can help you out, or if you have any questions. I am happy to travel and would love to hear from you.
